A Gratitude Giveaway for You, Sweet Friend

As some of you may know, I began blogging in 2007.  Blogging has been an amazing gift to me from the very first post.  This blog has given me a safe place to process and heal from my seventeen year battle with disordered eating, and now from the stillbirth of our first daughter.  It has been a place to share my artwork and my craziness, to receive support and to give it, and (this is the very best part) to come to know of all of you.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you come here and read my words -- and care.  That you leave your own words in return, each comment a precious note of love and understanding, regardless of the path you are walking.  And as a result of this blog and various interactions on Facebook, Twitter, and the like, I have made many very dear friends as a result of both my battle with disordered eating and the loss of our sweet Eve.  Heaps of beauty coming from the ashes!

So I want to say thank you.  Even though there is nothing that I can say or do to fully express the depths of my gratitude.  Still, maybe this little giveaway will be a start?

A very sweet and generous blog reader wants to bless both me and all of you.  She has donated one copy of the book Grieving the Child I Never Knew by Kathe Wunnenberg to one lucky reader!  This lovely donor wishes to remain anonymous, but she is a babyloss mama and encourages you to check out the Preeclampsia Foundation.

But that's not all!  In addition, the winner of the giveaway will also receive a $10 credit toward any one purchase in my Etsy shop and one free copy of my recently released eBook, Life After Eating Disorder: How to Have One.

So let me sum up.  One entrant will win:
  • one copy of Grieving the Child I Never Knew by Kathe Wunnenberg
  • one copy of Life After Eating Disorder: How to Have One by me :)
  • $10 (USD) toward any one purchase in my Etsy shop, excluding gift certificates
Want to enter?  Simply leave a comment on this post telling me what sorts of things you would like to see more of on this blog in the future.  Entries will remain open for one week, and the winner announced Friday, June 29.

Thank you so much for your sweet presence in my life, friend.  I am more grateful for your care than I can say.

  1. It's hard to say what I want to see more of...I love what you write! I always appreciate your realness. I think I just want to keep seeing you write about your experience being pregnant after losing your daughter. I think that will continue to be a huge blessing to many women.

  4. I love everything you write! I would like to keep reading about Eve, your past eating disorder and your current pregnancy-what it is like to be pregnant after loss. Your words help me so much more than you know-you help me to see that I am not alone!

  5. Hi Beth, two ideas for you. See if these themes resonate: beyond the searing grief, so much of what is hard about babyloss comes from taboos around it. The title of the book you are offering says it all (and what a great title!): the parents are grieving children that they did not get the chance to know in the way we would expect.....but meanwhile so many around them are ignoring the fact that it even happened. Hard, hard. Dealing with taboo is helpful for other babylost parents I think.
My second suggestion is how you use your creativity for yourself and for others. We are probably all creative but we tend to categorise ourselves as 'artists' and 'not artists'...big subject. But, who knows? the desire to have children may linked to that creativity. It does not make it any easier, but I have noticed for some a real surge of some sort of creativity once the initial rawness of babyloss grief has subsided. Lovely idea to give away and to ask by the way :o)

  10. Beth Love your blog!! You Share your heart and that is what makes it desirable to read. I hope you will include posts about rainbow boy when he gets here. Some BLM bloggers never post about their rainbows. While I get the fear that it could be painful for another Blm to love to read about peoples lives. SO I want to know what is going on NOW ;) I understand some blogs are just for the baby gone to soon but I love reading how family's incorporate loss into the big pictures of their life.

  12. I appreciate the way use art in response to the grief. Would you consider sharing some art ideas for those of us who aren't that artistic? I would like another way to release the sadness.

I like stopping by your blog. I comfort in your honest writing.

  13. Beth, I read your blog quite often, although I do not comment on it. I love to read your blog, at times it sounds like you are telling my life. Your artwork is beautiful, I do hope to be able to purchase some of it for Matthew's Mission Care Packages some day. I do not know if there is anything that could improve your blog though. You are such an amazing and inspirational woman. Just keep doing what you have been. You angel is very proud to call you mommy.
