Gratitude Monday

Day 202 / Fallen

The weekend was gorgeous here in western Montana.  We had the perfect mixture of light and clouds, cold and sun.  The trees look absolutely brilliant in their autumn colors.  I went on a long walk with one of the pups on Saturday morning to soak it all in.  Delicious.  I wish it could stay like this for months, but I know that the snows will probably be here in what will feel like only moments.

What are you feeling grateful for today?  Here are some of the gifts I received this week:
#78... registering for baby items with the Best Husband Ever
#79... tired feet that make me appreciate sitting
#80... mist and low clouds seeping along every street
#81... staying up late to finish Princess Academy
#82... the frustration of elusive sleep yielding the blessing of reading One Thousand Gifts at three o'clock in the morning
#83... wanting to share Chapter 4 with a friend
#84... baby kicks in my belly telling me that I'm not alone in my wakefulness
#85... knowing that perfection is not required
#86... reading old journal entries and seeing how God was working even then, even when He felt so far away

On Mondays, I catch you up on the beautiful gifts -- both large and small, hard and comfortable -- that God has been throwing my way.  Read more about my gratitude adventure here, and start your own One Thousand Gifts adventure by click on the banner below.

  1. Beth, thank you for blessing me with your comment on my blog!! That made my day!

So excited about the baby kicking! I so wish we could take a Montana walk together. My husband was in your beautiful state this summer in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. My son said the first thing Dad said when they went up the trail was, "Mom, would love it here."

And I know I would. Walk, walk, walk before the snow. :)

Oh look at those gorgeous leaves!! I have family in western Montana... it is such a beautiful place! I love that we can be grateful for tired feet because it makes us appreciate being able to rest. Knowing that perfection is not required. What a wonderful gift that is!

  4. Thank you stopping by my blog to read my thankfulness post today. I remember how wonderful it was to have babies kicking me from inside! My kids are 14, 13, and 10 now but you never forget those incredible moments. I read the Princess Academy too - it was a great book!

  5. Hi, Samantha! I was just thinking today that I can't believe I'm already getting to my due date -- I imagine that our baby (babies?) growing-up-time will feel just as fleeting. Thanks for visiting me! :)

  7. Thank you so much, Rachel! I'm so excited and in awe of just being pregnant. After years of battling anorexia/bulimia/compulsive overeating, doctors told me that I would never be able to have my own children. I guess God decided differently!
