I Heart Soup

Made following Kath's excellent recipe, except that I made it in my slow cooker, not on the stove top. I also used dates instead of raisins because that's what I had on hand. Verdict = delicious.

  1. This looks great! What a great idea to do it in the slowcooker. How did you do that?

  2. Courtney, I just piled all of the ingredients into my slow cooker and turned it to low for 8+ hours. When I came home from work, I mushed the mixture with a potato masher, then turned it to high for a short while because it was more liquid-y than I would have liked. It was still super tasty, though, and the leftovers thickened nicely.

  3. James finds Ernie McClellan, anxious and sputtering, trying to mount his horse. The Childress barn has caught fire and the whole town has gone to watch the spectacle while a few pitch in an attempt to quell the flame.
